It was back in early August when I lost my job. Shortly after that I put in a prayer request. Praise God - I just got a job! Thank you for all your prayers!

I had experienced periods of unemployment in my career during the recession, and they were lengthy and very stressful times. And I was preparing myself for the same. Yet, this time was different. God made this happen in 3 ½ months!

Being part of the CLC family, praying together with many of you one-on-one, along with the prayer ministry, together with words of encouragement made a difference. Instead of anxiety, I saw my own faith and trust in God become strengthened during this period of unemployment through your prayers. The interviews for the job, receiving the job offer, and then onboarding all happened very quickly – taking less than 3 weeks and just before Thanksgiving! – Thank you, my Lord, for you are glorified!

“…we know that in all things he works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Rom 8:28.

You guys! I got healed during second service on Sunday, Sept 23, when Pastor Dave was in town. He had a response time at the end but also specifically prayed for those that needed healing. If we needed healing, he asked us to place our hands on the area that needed it. I placed my hand over my shoulder. No crazy feeling at the time other than a tangible awareness of God’s presence in that service!

I injured my rotator cuff sometime in August. I had some pain that wasn’t going away so after two weeks I went to the doctor who put me on a heavy ibprofin regimen and said to not lift or do any weight related things for 4-6 weeks. He also gave me a physical therapy routine which required a lot of supplies and was for three times a day. Needless to say, I think I only did that once or twice. Well on Sunday morning, before church, I was at the gym with friends to cycle; I tried the bench press (just the bar) to see how I was feeling and that pain was still there even with only the bar. I figured I’d finally break down to buy the physical therapy equipment. Then I went to church from there.

On Monday, I tried the bench press and there was no pain; I even added some weight, still no pain. And today I did a workout with weights and still no pain!

This is a big deal for me as I don’t think something like this has happened to me specifically even though I’ve seen it happen countless times in other people’s lives. 🙂 Not sure how to properly communicate the blessing that this is. So I figured it would be a great testimony to share!

I attended the Night of Worship this evening for the first time and it was amazing! I moved to the area in December 2017 with the anticipation my husband and son would follow. To make a long story short, I found out a few months ago they were not coming. My life has been crushed, to say the least, as I move toward divorce and a custody battle. I have been very alone here and through many prayer requests, I have asked God for guidance, strength and peace during this season.

Tonight, a beautiful young lady named Julie came to me after worship and said that she was led to give me a hug and to tell me that I was not alone. Naturally, I cried my face off! This just touched my heart so much and confirmed that God does speak through others. I am so, so thankful Julie had the courage to approach a complete stranger and hug me and speak those words! So blessed tonight!

When I was living overseas in UZ I had one really tough year with a co worker. I prayed that in the next teaching year I would have a Christian friend closer ( I did have friends on Sunday but no one in my work place.. most were not believers) In the beginning of the year at a welcoming party two new people joined us and one clearly came up to me and said I heard you have a church group can my husband and join? I couldn't believe how clear this was. I was the art teacher and she was music. Our director had decided on top of this to move our rooms closer together for convience for the students. This person became a main support for me that year. there was a second person sent who was also a close friend who also became my kids friends and lived in walkable distance from our house. I now had prayer friends in within the school and were able to pray in tough days together. I was extremely thankful for their support and we had the most amazing year of teaching and feeling Jesus in our presence and decisions at school. My prayers in UZ were answered higher than my expectations.

Psalm 50:15

15 Call upon Me in the day of trouble;

I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me.”

As I was meditating on this verse on Friday I asked God to show me a sign that He’s with me and to show me His love that He’s taking care of me. So, I went to do a side job on Saturday (next day) and I expected to make $250, but in the end the client not only paid me $360, but also called a restaurant and ordered some fancy food and paid for it. For those who are reading I want you to know that God hears our prayers and respond to us. I bring my tithes and offerings to the altar and I believe that God pours out blessings until it overflows.; He lives.

Over a year ago I put up a prayer request as me and my husband had been trying to conceive for over 2 years. I would like to testify that God has been faithful and we are blessed with a baby girl. She was born 2 months ago in February 2018 and to God be all the Glory. I thank God for the gift of this baby and thank you for your prayers.

I requested prayer in January for a custody hearing for a child who had been a victim of abuse and had witnessed domestic abuse of his mother. The judge agreed with the mother that supervised visitation between the father and child had been warranted (and that mother had NOT unreasonably denied access to the child), granted the mother full physical and majority legal custody, and put prerequisites in place for unsupervised visitation with father in order to protect the child. (It is rare, even under compelling circumstances, for a court order to be this robust and explicit.) Please continue to pray for safety, peace, and healing for all parties, and for the father to experience the life-changing love of God.

I was at one of the museums in DC walking around when I asked a security guard where the bathroom is. She was really nice so I just asked her if she needs prayer for anything.

Her face changed and she said actually yes I have a recurring case of thyroid cancer.

So she gave me her hand and I prayed for healing with her right there and began to prophesy God’s love over her. When I finished we hugged and she had started to cry.

Such a cool God moment and great example of how the Holy Spirit can move on someone and touch them right where they’re at! Praise Jesus!

A few weeks ago myself and a friend where waiting in line at the mall for his food to be prepared. A lady popped up behind us out of no where. We weren't sure if she was just looking at options or looking to get in line, but we took the opportunity to ask her if she needed any prayer. She responded that she did because she was a chaperone from San Fran for a large group of students and was concerned about safety and the overall trip. We prayed for her right then and afterwards her countenance had changed. She looked more at peace than when we first meet her. It goes to show that we can truly use any opportunity to bless others at any moment! I hope that encourages someone to have the boldness to act as the spirit leads.

I went to David's Tent tonight for their Sunday Service that they do and we broke up into small groups and were declaring the amazing things from Psalms 103 over each other.

The first group I was with when we got to verse three the guy I was praying over in my group, I received the word neck so I prayed for his neck but wasn't quite sure it was his neck I was supposed to be praying for. When we stopped I asked if he had any neck pain and he said no. So I asked my group and this girl Jeanette slowly raised her hand.

Turns out she had an accident about 2 years ago. Her neck wasn't bothering at the moment but she said the pain comes and goes. We prayed for that pain to be gone and never come back. As we were praying for her neck another girl came up and laid hands on her back. Turns out her back had been really stiff and she said after we prayed that her back felt much better!

When then had this girl Megan asked if we could pray for peace over her cause she said her mind was just spinning. I received God saying that he has her back. I told her I don't know if you are unsure of something or whatever the case is but he wants you to know that he has your back no matter what. Turns out she is moving to Harrisonburg soon and really needed those words of encouragement.

God is such an amazing, loving, faithful and and will always be there for us all no matter what! Praise Jesus!

I will extol the Lord at all times; his praise will always be on my lips. I will glory in the Lord; let the afflicted hear and rejoice. Glorify the Lord with me; let us exalt his name together.
