Capital Life Family

We are so thankful that you are a part of our Church family!

2022 has been an incredible year of seeing God at work in so many different ways. We have had over 100 people commit or recommit their life to Christ at Capital Life Church, 15 people get baptized, and so many testimonies of lives being changed (check out our social media to view some of these). Because of your amazing generosity, we as a church have been able to grow in our relationship with God, continue to develop authentic relationships with one another, and increase our outreach to our community.

Here are highlights from our ministries to show how God has been at work among us in powerful ways:

Worship & Creative

We are so thankful for the ability to be able to stream practical, biblical messages from Pastor Bill and our teaching team and have anointed, passionate worship each week both in-person and online. Last year’s upgrades to our website continue to be an amazing resource! CapitalLife.org has made our ministry as a church even more effective by creating a space to engage with our Sunday Streams, media, ministries, news and events.

Our mobile app has been a great way to engage with Capital Life right from your phone, tablet, or TV streaming devices. This year our YouTube channel has reached around the world with over 33,000 videos viewed for over 3,400 total hours! Maybe you were even one of the nearly 10,000 search links from Google that found their way to Capital Life.

Family Ministry

Our growing Family Ministries team loves fostering a safe and welcoming environment for families, and a fun and engaging place for our kids to learn about how much Jesus loves them and helping them grow in their walk with God.

It’s also been amazing to see the growth in our student community! Our older students had many opportunities to build a relationship with Jesus and each other through social events, Sunday small groups and weekly bible studies. We took students to summer camp and fall retreat where they experienced Jesus personally.

A lot of great milestones happened in Kids and Student ministry in 2022! 63 kids attended VBS (and 18 came from Glebe Elementary School). 12 kiddos were baptized. 20 Fuel/Ignite students attended Messiah Camp and 9 were baptized at camp!

Reach Further

This year you helped us provide and pack over 700 sandwiches for our homeless brothers and sisters, and you have given over 500 pounds of food, clothing and toiletries to those in need through our monthly outreaches in DC and our partnership with Arlington Food Assistance Center. You also wrote over 150 notes of encouragement to those in prison, in the Ukraine, and to the homeless.

Impact Lives

One gentleman shared with our outreach team that he left an abusive home at the age of 10 and has been on the streets ever since. He is now a Christian, and his whole face lit up when he talked about God's love. He is grateful for our monthly visits -- not just for food and clothing, but because he feels encouraged spiritual every time he receives prayer and talks with our team.

New Opportunity

Six students received full scholarships to be able to go to summer camp, where they heard the gospel and had the opportunity to grow in their walk with God with their peers. Every time a student expressed a need, God would lay it on someone else's heart to give. This was a beautiful picture of our community being in step with the Holy Spirit to provide for our students.

outreach

We loved partnering with our friends at Glebe Elementary to bless local low income families by donating 80 backpacks with school supplies, providing 40 Thanksgiving meal kits, and giving 55 Christmas presents to kids and families in need.

Above All Else

Above All Else began the year providing new wardrobes, kitchen supplies and everything else a family might need to survive and thrive in a brand new country! Because of your generosity we were able to care for 30 Afghans as they arrived with nothing more than the clothes on their back and a small bag each. We had the privilege of loving them, praying with them and seeing answers to their prayers and providing for their practical needs all yearlong! We also gave each family (5 family units) several bikes and lots of toys. What a joy it has been!

The women of Capital Life Church studied the women of the Bible together, identifying with them and growing closer to one another as we were encouraged in whatever season each of us was walking through this year.

And of course we enjoyed our Coffee Walk-and-Talk times, where we were able to deepen our relationships with each other and to welcome new ladies into our wonderful community who have decided to make Capital Life their home. We are looking forward to all the beauty and strength in Christ for 2023!

groups and prayer.

We had 30 Life Groups, several all-church picnics, and numerous corporate prayer and worship nights this year to help us stay connected and grow together. We also were very excited to have 15 people get baptized and publicly declare their love for Jesus and desire to live for Him.

We Love Our Church.

Life Groups had Men’s, Women’s, Married, Single, Activity, Dance, and Outreach Groups that have focused on studying God’s Word, building relationships, and impacting our community! For the Prayer Ministry, we had church wide prayer gatherings, met as a small group for prayer, teaching and worship, and continued to pray over personal and corporate prayer requests.

C3 Young Adults

2022 was another amazing year in C3! We studied the Gospel of John, brought in guest speakers from the church to lead us in a Words of Wisdom series, and finished the year with a Transformation series based on Romans 12:2. We grew closer as a community, shared many meals together at C3 lunches and Family Dinners, and had several fun events, including spending a day at the river, attending a Nationals game, and celebrating both Thanksgiving and Christmas! Our big event of the year was our Fall Retreat in the Shenandoah Mountains, focused on being rooted in Christ. It was the first retreat C3 had gone on in several years, and we had 25 C3'ers attend! It was an awesome time of community with the Lord and one another, and we heard several amazing testimonies come out of that weekend!

If there is one thing that could be highlighted about this community, it would be that C3’ers truly love one another. Nothing beats watching our community members pray and intercede for each other during hard times and champion and celebrate one another in the good. It's such a beautiful reflection of the Father's heart toward His children.

Missions

We continue to support missionaries both locally and abroad in Thailand, Niger, and Haiti! You helped bring the gospel to unreached areas, provided resources for relational discipleship, and made a lasting global impact!

We love being your pastors

Thank you so much for your faithful and consistent giving that helped make all this ministry and life change possible! We are praying for all God has for us in 2023, as we continue to move forward together in the mission God has given us to “Love God Authentically, Grow Together Intentionally, and Serve Others Sacrificially”!
