Capital Life Family

We are so thankful that you are a part of our Church family!

As we approach the close of another remarkable year, we find ourselves reflecting on the incredible journey we've shared in our mission to love God authentically, grow together intentionally, and serve others sacrificially. This year has been a testament to the love, compassion, and generosity that unites us as the Capital Life Church family. We celebrate the stories of triumph, resilience, and newfound hope. We thank God for each of you and all the ways you have shown the love of Christ in such practical ways and made a lasting impact in our church, local community, nation, and world.

Here are highlights from our ministries to show how God has been at work among us in powerful ways:

Growing Together

This year, we've seen a 22% increase in church attendance, with many new families joining us in worship, fellowship, and service. We love that God is sending new people to be a part of our family, and as we grow in numbers, we have also been intentionally prioritizing discipleship, church health, and growing deeper in our walk with God.
We have also increased our online presence with over double our normal views on our YouTube Channel and over 3,000 subscribers. This year over 49,000 Capital Life Church videos have been viewed around the world for over 3,700 total hours!

Lives Changed

The most remarkable aspect of 2023 has been the countless lives that have been transformed through the love of Christ. We've celebrated baptisms, testimonies, and the powerful journey of individuals coming to know Jesus personally. As a church family, we've been blessed to witness the profound impact of our collective faith and the life-changing power of God's grace.

This year over 100 people committed or recommitted their lives to Jesus, and we offered thirty different Life Groups throughout the year to help everyone who calls Capital Life Church home grow in their walk with God in the context of Christ-Centered community.

Stepping Forward.

Our Men’s and Women’s Ministry had many gatherings, including Bible Studies, meals together, a leadership retreat, a sailing trip, and “Coffee, Walk, and Talks.” We also had twenty-six people get baptized at Capital Life Church this year and publicly declare their faith in Jesus! We celebrate the stories of triumph, resilience, and newfound hope. Lives have been touched, hearts have been transformed, and futures have been rewritten.

outreach

Your commitment to serving others has been a beacon of light in our community and made a meaningful difference in the lives of those navigating difficult circumstances.

Impact

We have donated hundreds of pounds of food (including over 800 sandwiches), clothing, and toiletries through our McPherson Square homeless outreach. We have heard many testimonies from our homeless brothers and sisters about how much these resources mean to them and seen several be able to get off the streets into their own apartments.

Our World

In addition, we have partnered with Arlington Food Assistance Center to pack and provide food for families in our area who are food insecure, and we have been able to remind them that they are not alone on their journey. We partnered with Glebe Elementary and gave away seventy-two backpacks filled with school supplies to students in need in September.

Together

This Thanksgiving we provided turkeys and a Thanksgiving meal for thirty local families and gave fifty Christmas gifts to children in need. The impact of our collective efforts has not only touched lives but has also been a powerful reminder of the true spirit of Christmas – a season of giving and selflessness.

Family
Ministry.

We are averaging over 70 kids each Sunday in Family Ministries this fall! In the summer, sixty-eight kids were able to experience Vacation Bible School, including twenty-eight children from Glebe Elementary. This was an incredible outreach opportunity, as all the kids were able to hear the gospel, with many kids making the decision to commit their lives to Jesus.

In our VBS family ministry shoe drive, we partnered with Soles4Souls and more than doubled the number of shoes we gave away this year- over two hundred pairs of shoes to children in need. Thirty of our Fuel and Ignite students went to Messiah Teen Camp this year, where many dedicated or rededicated their lives to Jesus. We were able to provide four scholarships for these students, who might not have otherwise been able to go to camp. Thank you for investing in family ministries, as we are intentionally raising our kids and students to know God personally and impact their generation for the cause of Christ.

C3 Young Adults

C3, our young adult ministry, continues to be one of the most frequent ways that people find our church. We had an average of thirty-five young adults who met each week to study the book of James, worship, and grow together. C3 also went on a fall weekend retreat, which was a significant time of spiritual growth and connection. They recently celebrated Thanksgiving and Christmas together and continue to help young adults in this area find meaningful connection with each other and a deeper relationship with God.

Global Missions

advancing the Kingdom of God around the world.

We have amazing full-time missionaries around the globe and as we partner with them, we help plant churches, lead youth camps, and much more. We are connected with several national and international mission organizations, but our focus this year has been our partnership with Neal and Danette Childs, who have been reaching the unreached through Abundant Life Ministries in Niger, Africa since 1998.

RUN International is a church planting and discipleship network with thirty-six churches, three Bible Schools, and two primary schools across the nation.  Earlier this year we were able to surprise them with a $10,000 check to invest in a new discipleship school to help local Nigerians be trained in Scripture, godly leadership, and the teachings of Christ.

Thank you so much

We truly believe you will never know the full impact of your love, serving, and giving this side of heaven, but we know that countless lives have been impacted, many people have come to know God personally, and stories have been re-framed through the lens of God’s goodness.

Together, we've witnessed miracles and milestones, and it's a testament to the strength that emanates from our faith in Jesus and our collective compassion and dedication. We ask that you remember Capital Life Church in your end of the year of the giving, as we seek to continue our mission and carry the spirit of gratitude, love, and unity into the coming year. We are immensely grateful for the privilege of partnering with you on this incredible journey, and we look forward to the continued transformation of lives for Jesus Christ. May the love of God continue to shine brightly in our hearts and guide us in all that we do.

With Love and Gratitude,

Pastor Bill & Lisa
