Capital Life Family

We are so thankful that you are a part of our Church family!

As we wrap up another year, we celebrate God’s faithfulness and the incredible ways He has moved through our church community. From worship and outreach to small groups and missions, every ministry has played a vital role in spreading the love of Christ.

Here are highlights from 2024 to show how God has been at work among us in powerful ways:

Growing Together

This year, we've seen a 22% increase in church attendance, with many new families joining us in worship, fellowship, and service. We love that God is sending new people to be a part of our family, and as we grow in numbers, we have also been intentionally prioritizing discipleship, church health, and growing deeper in our walk with God.

Sermon Shorts

We have expanded our online presence with the addition of regular sermon shorts and our YouTube channel has seen 31% more subscribers since 2023.

YouTube Enagement

In 2024 over 78,000 Capital Life Church videos have been viewed around the world for over 4,000 total hours by new viewers and 3,400 returning subscribers!

Targeted Ads

A new initiative we launched this year to reach even further was introducing some very effective ads on Google and on social media.

Social Media

Just this month, Capital Life social media content has nearly 14,000 views, which is a 61% increase in views on reels, 22% on stories and 16% on posts.

SEO

We have refined our search engine optimization in ways that are both technical and practical, such as our new weekly sermon recaps and small group discussion guides! You can find those on the website and on our Capital Life Church app

New Visitors

The most exciting part is that this has lead to over 60 new families and individuals expressing interest in attending CLC.

Lives Changed

This year we offered twenty-five different Life Groups to help CLCers grow deeper roots in Jesus and connect relationally with each other. Approximately 150 Capital Life Church members participated in a Life Group this year.

As always, at the close of the year we are most thankful for so many lives that have been transformed through the love of Christ. We've celebrated baptisms, testimonies, and the powerful journey of individuals coming to know Jesus personally. As a church family, we've been blessed to witness the profound impact of our collective faith and the life-changing power of God's grace.

Godly Men and Women

45 men have attended Men's Ministry events this year, which included Men's breakfasts, Monday Night Bible Studies and a retreat for a growing team of Men's Ministry leaders. Pastor Bill spoke at our church-wide Men's retreat where 32 men were inspired and challenged to answer God's call personally and as a community. Our Capital Life Women participated in the Shalom Bible Study on Monday nights which was a great opportunity for women to understand their call to take good care of their bodies, souls and spirits. Our Women's Leadership Retreat was a great time of relational connection where Pastor Lisa spent dedicated time investing in our Above All Else leaders.

outreach

Your commitment to serving others has been a beacon of light in our community and made a meaningful difference in the lives of those navigating difficult circumstances.

Impact

We have regularly donated food, clothing, and toiletries through our McPherson Square homeless outreach, which has doubled in size where we are now serving approximately 250 homeless brothers and sisters every month.

Our World

We regularly team up with Arlington Food Assistance Center to pack and provide food for families in our area who are food insecure, and by our volunteering and donations we have been able to remind them that they are not alone on their journey.

Together

We love serving Glebe Elementary students and families, and this year provided 72 backpacks with school supplies, 30 Thanksgiving meals, and 50 Christmas gifts to kids who otherwise would not have received any.

Family
Ministry.

We are averaging 70 kids each Sunday in Family Ministries! In the summer, sixty kids were able to experience Vacation Bible School, including some from Elementary who are now a regular part of our church on Sundays. VBS is always a wonderful outreach opportunity for so many kids and families to hear the gospel, with many kids making the decision to commit their lives to Jesus.

This year we welcomed a new student ministry leader, Jessica Hiemstra, who is spearheading our thriving student ministry. Twenty-four of our Fuel and Ignite students went to Messiah Teen Camp this year, which is always a fun event and a powerful time of student commitment and re-commitment to Jesus (10 of those students were baptized)! You are always so generous to provide scholarships for students who might not have otherwise been able to go to camp. Thank you for investing in family ministries, as we are intentionally raising our kids and students to know God personally and impact their generation for the cause of Christ.

C3 Young Adults

C3, our young adult ministry, continues to be one of the most frequent ways that people find Capital Life Church. We have had 50 new Tuesday visitors just this year! Our focus in 2024 has been to cultivate an 'up front and engaged' culture of Christ followers. We launched our very first C3 Sunday Takeover when 23 C3ers simultaneously served in various roles throughout the church, and led to 10 new members committed to serving on a regular basis.

This year we have studied 1 Corinthians and Colossians, hosted church-wide nights of worship and prayer, and interviewed various church leaders, not to mention dessert nights, family dinners and our annual Fall Retreat! We continue to gather frequently for Sunday lunches, DC outings and serving together at many CLC outreaches.

Global Missions

advancing the Kingdom of God around the world.

In 2024 we sent missions teams to Paraguay and to Romania to partner with ministries (and friends) in those countries, sharing the gospel in creative and relational ways. We have amazing full-time missionaries around the globe and as we partner with them, we help plant churches, lead youth camps, and much more.
We continue to support our friends and missionaries Neal and Danette Childs, who have been reaching the unreached through Abundant Life Ministries in Niger, Africa since 1998. Because of your support we are able to support their practical needs including new laptops and computers.

Thank you so much

Hundreds have come to Christ and rededicated their lives to Christ through our ministries each year. We truly believe you will never know the full impact of your love, serving, and giving this side of heaven, but we know that countless lives have been impacted, many people have come to know God personally, and stories have been re-framed through the lens of God’s goodness.

Together, we've witnessed miracles and milestones, and it's a testament to the strength that emanates from our faith in Jesus and our collective compassion and dedication. We ask that you remember Capital Life Church in your end of the year of the giving, as we seek to continue our mission and carry the spirit of gratitude, love, and unity into the coming year. We are immensely grateful for the privilege of partnering with you on this incredible journey, and we look forward to the continued transformation of lives for Jesus Christ.

Looking Ahead As we close out 2024, we thank God for every life impacted through the ministries of Capital Life Church. Let’s continue to trust Him as we step into 2025 with faith and anticipation for what’s to come. May the love of God continue to shine brightly in our hearts and guide us in all that we do.

With Love and Gratitude,

Pastor Bill & Lisa
