Capital Life Family

We are so thankful that you are a part of the story God is writing here!

As we reflect on this past year, we’re grateful for God’s steady faithfulness and the many ways He has been at work in our church family. Through worship, community, service, and outreach, we’ve seen lives touched, relationships formed, and new people finding a place to belong. This page is a snapshot of how God has been moving, and how your prayers, generosity, and faithfulness have made it possible.

A Year of Transformation.

This year has been one of deepening roots and meaningful steps of faith. Through community, discipleship, and shared life together, we’ve seen God shaping lives in quiet and powerful ways, very often through simple moments of connection and obedience.
Here are just two of the many stories of transformation God has been writing this year.

As always, at the close of the year we are most thankful for the many lives that have been transformed through the love of Christ. This year alone, we celebrated 18 baptisms, so many powerful testimonies, and the journey of individuals choosing to follow Jesus personally. As a church family, we’ve been blessed to witness the profound impact of our unified faith and the life-changing power of God’s grace.

Real lives Changed at Capital Life

We may never fully know this side of heaven the full impact of faithful serving and generosity, but we continue to see the ripple effects of lives being transformed by the awesome power of Jesus.

Loving God Authentically

One man who was baptized this year shared that the trajectory of his entire family changed after he gave his life to Christ. Today, his wife and children attend church regularly, and together they serve on Guest Services and Outreach—joyfully giving back to the community that helped shape their faith.

Growing Together Intentionally

Another young woman shared that after fully surrendering her life to Christ, she experienced freedom and joy she had never known before. Through Life Groups at CLC, she formed God-centered friendships, grew deeper in faith, and this year saw her husband come to Christ as well. Together, they are now building a marriage grounded in Christ.

Serving Others Sacrificially

A couple who has been part of CLC for several years found deep support when faced with a life-altering illness. Even amid financial pressure, they continued to give faithfully—and experienced God’s provision in timely, unexpected ways. They shared how the church community became both their spiritual family and a tangible reminder of God’s faithfulness.

More than just a church

These stories represent just a small glimpse of what God is doing, and they are only possible because of your faithful partnership in building His Kingdom.

Family
Ministry.

This year, God continued to work powerfully through our Family Ministries as we invested in the next generation. From Sunday mornings to special events throughout the year, kids and students were welcomed, cared for, and discipled. Our kids and students are given meaningful opportunities to encounter Jesus, grow in faith, and experience the love of Christ in community. None of this happens by accident, and we are deeply grateful for the faithful leaders and volunteers who make it possible week after week.

Throughout the year, Family Ministry remained one of the most vibrant expressions of life at Capital Life Church. On average, Kids Church served 50 children each Sunday over the past several months, with weekly attendance climbing into the high 50s as fall began. During the summer, 60 kids participated in Vacation Bible School, supported by 33 dedicated volunteers, creating an environment where many children heard the gospel—some for the very first time.

Our students also experienced meaningful growth. Thirty students and leaders attended Messiah Teen Camp, where faith was strengthened and lives were marked by decisive moments—including baptisms, with several kids and parents choosing to publicly declare their faith this year. These moments remind us that God is actively at work in families, not just individuals.

None of this would be possible without our incredible team of 47 Family Ministry volunteers. From nursery through student ministry, their consistency, prayer, and service create safe, welcoming spaces where kids and students are known, loved, and formed in faith. We are deeply grateful for those who joyfully invest in the next generation.

Groups, Guest Services & Pastoral Care

This year was marked by deepening community and intentional care across Capital Life Church. We offered 40 Life Groups over three semesters, with more than 150 participants engaging in Bible studies, book discussions, and activity-based groups designed to help people grow in faith and connection. Life Groups continue to be a primary way people build meaningful relationships and walk together through every season.

As new families joined our church, our Greeters, Hospitality Team, and Ushers grew as well—helping create a warm, welcoming environment each Sunday. From coffee tumblers and warm drinks to friendly conversations and next steps, we sought to make every guest feel at home.

Through Pastoral Care and our meal ministry, we were also able to walk alongside individuals and families navigating illness, crisis, and major life transitions. We believe no one is meant to walk alone, and it has been a privilege to reflect the compassion of Christ through presence, prayer, and practical support.

outreach

Throughout the year, our church family has continued to serve our community in practical and compassionate ways. Through acts of generosity, presence, and care, we’ve been able to come alongside people in real moments of need and reflect the love of Christ beyond our walls.

This year, Capital Life Church continued to serve our city in tangible, compassionate ways--meeting physical needs while pointing people to the hope found in Christ. Through consistent partnerships and a growing volunteer base, we’ve seen lives encouraged, dignity restored, and doors opened for deeper spiritual impact.

Impact

We served regularly through Arlington Food Assistance Center and the McPherson Square Homeless Outreach, distributing food, clothing, and essential supplies throughout the year. On many Saturdays, over 200 of our homeless brothers and sisters received prayer, hot meals, toiletries, and care—often sharing stories of new jobs, housing, and renewed hope.

Our World

Through partnerships with local organizations and businesses, including McDonald’s, we were able to distribute over 2,000 breakfast sandwiches to individuals experiencing homelessness. These moments of generosity created space for meaningful conversations, prayer, and reminders that no one is forgotten or unseen.

Together

In partnership with Glebe Elementary, we provided 72 backpacks, 30 Thanksgiving meals, and 60 Christmas gifts to students and families in need. Many recipients shared how deeply these gifts impacted them, reminding us that when we meet practical needs with love, God often opens the door to minister to hearts as well.

Sermon Shorts

This year, short-form teaching became one of the primary ways people encountered Capital Life Church online. Scripture-centered clips and sermon moments were shared widely, helping God’s Word reach people far beyond a Sunday service.

Over half of our top-performing content came through the Shorts feed.

YouTube Enagement

In 2025, God expanded the reach of Capital Life Church far beyond our walls. Worship and teaching content was viewed over 119,000 times, with people engaging for more than 4,000 hours across 25+ countries.

An encouraging sign of this growth is that 87% of viewers were discovering CLC for the first time, many watching on mobile devices and TVs in their homes.

Targeted Reach

This year we also explored new ways to thoughtfully share church content with people searching for hope and community. Through targeted digital efforts, messages about worship, gatherings, and upcoming events were able to reach individuals who may not have otherwise encountered Capital Life Church during seasons when they were actively searching for connection.

Social Media

Social media continued to be a meaningful point of connection this year. In just the last 90 days, Capital Life content received nearly 50,000 views on Instagram, with over 60% coming from people outside our existing community.

We’ve also seen more people interacting, sharing, tagging, and creating content connected to CLC—often becoming someone’s first introduction to our church.

Search & Discovery

We’ve continued refining how people discover Capital Life Church online. Through improved search visibility and clear weekly sermon recaps and discussion guides, individuals are finding messages, Scripture, and next steps when they’re actively seeking them.

These resources are available through our website and the Capital Life Church app, helping people stay connected throughout the week.

New Visitors

Perhaps the most encouraging outcome of this digital growth is that it has led to over 60 new families and individuals expressing interest in attending Capital Life Church.

What began online has often become in-person connection, reminding us that God uses faithful sharing—sometimes through something as simple as a click or repost—to open the door to real community.

C3 Young Adults

This year, C3 continued to be a place of meaningful connection, spiritual growth, and shared life for young adults at Capital Life Church. Through regular gatherings and Bible studies—including studies in Jonah and on Advent—young adults were invited to engage Scripture deeply and grow in their walk with Jesus.

Throughout the year, C3 hosted a variety of events and retreats, including gatherings for both leaders and the broader community, creating space for encouragement, development, and rest. The group also leaned into serving together, hosting service nights and helping meet needs around the church by supporting various ministries and teams. C3 expanded its presence beyond Capital Life, connecting with and encouraging young adults through social media in meaningful ways. We’re grateful for the ways C3 continues to foster community, discipleship, and a heart to serve within the life of the church.

Global Missions

advancing the Kingdom of God around the world.

This year, Capital Life Church continued to invest in God’s work beyond our local community by supporting global partners and missionaries who are faithfully sharing the gospel and serving practical needs around the world. Through prayer, generosity, and ongoing partnership, we remain committed to seeing lives transformed and communities strengthened in the name of Jesus.

We are grateful for our long-standing partnership with missionaries Neal and Danette Childs through Abundant Life Ministries in Niger, Africa. Because of your faithful support, we have been able to meet real, on-the-ground needs and encourage gospel work in challenging environments. We remain prayerfully committed to advancing God’s Kingdom globally as God opens doors for impact.

Thank you so much

As we reflect on this past year, our hearts are filled with gratitude for the faithfulness of God and for each of you who call Capital Life Church home. Because of your prayers, generosity, and willingness to serve, lives have been impacted, families have been strengthened, and the hope of the gospel has continued to reach people both near and far.

We are continually reminded that ministry is never the work of one person or one team--it is the fruit of a church family walking together in obedience and love. From worship gatherings and discipleship to outreach, care, and mission, your faithfulness has helped create space for God to move in powerful and personal ways.

As we close out this year and look ahead to what God has in store, we invite you to continue partnering with us through prayer and generosity. Your end-of-year giving helps ensure that Capital Life Church can continue making an eternal impact in the year to come. Thank you for believing in the mission, for investing in people, and for trusting God alongside us.

With Love and Gratitude,

Pastor Bill & Lisa
