Everything You Need
You have everything that you need...right now.
I’d been in the midst of compiling thoughts for more blogs when Pastor Bill asked me if I’d step into the pulpit on an upcoming Sunday. As I set my mind to hear what God would have me share, I began where I usually do, which is with the things that God’s been speaking to me lately. As the Holy Spirit and I then did what I’ll call our “sermon dance,” He gently guided me into taking what I had initially intended to develop into two or three different blog topics and turned it into one specific sermon. He also led me to one of my favorite New Testament epistles, the book of Colossians. If you haven’t lately, go ahead and give it a read. It’s not very long, and it will challenge you.
So this “blog” is actually the video from that Sunday’s message. And let me encourage you, God has called you and equipped you with very specific purposes in mind. It’s already been revealed to you–even freshly in recent weeks. Now He’s asking you to walk in it.

- You have stripped off the old self
- Clothe yourself with the new [spiritual self], [ever in the process of being] renewed and remolded into creator’s likeness
- Put on [behavior marked by] tenderhearted pity and mercy, kind feeling, a lowly opinion of yourselves, gentle ways, [and] patience / [good temper]
- Be gentle and forbearing with one another…
- above all [put on] love
- Let the peace from Christ rule in your hearts
- Be thankful
- Let the word dwell in you…as you teach / admonish / train one another…as you sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs
- Do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus — in [dependence upon] His Person, giving praise to God the Father through Him
